Phase 2 Begins

All,

Today begins the second phase of three. This next step is the brachytherapy and is an internal radiation as many of you already know. This phase has been a tough one so far. The surgery to prepare for this treatment has had some unpleasant after effects. The anaesthesia has not agree with her and she is struggling to keep food down. It was a long weekend, but Kindra started feeling better on Monday which was just in time for the start of the treatment.

Today started at 10am. It ended up being a painful 5 hour treatment that has left Kindra very tired and sore. It went okay today, but the fact that the pain was so great and that the surgically implanted sleeve had to be so short (due to tumor size) has made today's procedure not as effective as we all had hoped. The next treatment is on Friday and we hope that we are able to carry on with the treatments.

Kindra is strong and positive. She has already shown us all how tough she can be and she will continue to battle through this tough time in order to see the "squatter" gone!
Love to all
Mark~!
